City Hall Rotunda will be buzzing with excitement as young artists from over 40 OCPS public and charter schools view their artwork in the exhibit which opens the 10th Annual Global Peace Film Festival. Joined by parents, teachers and friends, for many students this will be the first time they see their art in a public exhibition. All the students interpreted the theme “Light Up the World with Peace”. Twelve of those pieces will be selected to appear in the2013 Global Peace Film Festival calendar.

This is an opportunity to capture on video the excitement of the students at seeing their work on display, and some of the images that were inspired by the idea of peace.

The works are on display throughout the week during regular business hours.

The Global Peace Film Festival spotlights lots of issues affecting the quality and peacefulness of our life on the planet. Topics screened include the environment, arts and education as well as films of war and peace.  “Zen of Bennett” about singer Tony Bennett kicks off the festival at a free screening on the lawn of Rollins College on Tuesday, September 17 at 8:30 pm.
