Category : Latest News

DVD coverYellow Rick Road Productions inked a deal with Breaking Glass Pictures for the USA Blu-Ray (SRP $29.99) and DVD (SRP $24.99) release of the award-winning rock documentary An Affair of the Heart, an homage to Rick Springfield’s classic song and an intimate portrait of the singer’s unique relationship with seven devoted fans who put their lives on hold to follow him on tour.  The film will be released nationwide on July 16th.

The Grammy® Award-winning musician, songwriter, actor and best-selling author was quoted as saying, “It was a real laugh/cry kind of thing. As a person, I am kind of peripheral. It is about their connection, what they view and how they interpreted who I was, and the right times that music that they liked came along to help them to get through difficult stuff.” He adds, “I get the stories. I am very proud to be part of it, but it is more their power than mine.”

For most fans, Rick Springfield is much more than a celebrity crush; some have overcome deep trauma by connecting with his music, for others he has served as a catalyst for life-long friendships, and without fail all have a unique bond with him. A fascinating look at the fans of a pop rock icon, An Affair of the Heart is a soulful examination of those who turned a man into a legend. To date, he has sold over 19 million records with 17 Top 40 hits. He has performed for millions of devoted fans over the last three decades. Attracting new fans wherever he goes with his unique brand of audience interaction, unstoppable energy, and unforgettable songs, Rick Springfield is a part of the soundtrack to many lives.

Hot new releasesSince its premiere at the Florida Film Festival, An Affair of the Heart has received praise and awards on the film festival and theatrical circuits.  The Hollywood Reporter hailed the film as “a feel-good and at times laugh-out-loud documentary”, the New York Times called it “a refuge from the mundane” and Time Out – New York gave it four stars and called it a “new kind of music doc”.

Director/producer Sylvia Caminer is an Emmy® Award-winning filmmaker, with extensive credits in film and television. The film is also produced/executive produced by Melanie Lentz-Janney, a veteran marketing and communications executive and life-long Springfield fan.

The home video release includes over an hour of extras on the DVD, while the Blu-Ray comes complete with over two full hours of bonus content.

Movie Critic ROGER MOORE of MovieNation has been following the Yellow Rick Road since the very beginning of the journey.  Roger was the movie critic for the Orlando Sentinel for years and even had his own TV show on WESH (NBC) where he would discuss why most movies were “not worthy.”

Roger and Melanie Lentz-Janney met back in the 90’s at numerous press screenings, but when they became Facebook friends, he quickly discovered her undeniable love for musician RICK SPRINGFIELD.  After teasing her for being a “stalker” and never allowing her teenage crush to leave her radar, she was a little reluctant to tell him about the documentary project she was producing with Sylvia Caminer.  She knew Roger could potentially have a field day teasing her, however, she selected him as THE first journalist to know about the new production company, Yellow Rick Road Productions, and the documentary, AN AFFAIR OF THE HEART and break the story.

Roger wrote a few articles for the Orlando Sentinel: and and

This month he wrote a feature story for Orlando Magazine.  The magazine hits the newsstands the end of January.  Here’s a link to the story:
