Melanie Lentz-Janney

Team Leader & Strategist
Having lived in what she likes to refer to as the “triangle of the entertainment world” (New York City, L.A., and Orlando), Melanie Lentz-Janney has 25 years’ experience in public relations, promotions, advertising and brand marketing and is considered a seasoned veteran among her peers. She holds a degree from Pepperdine University in Advertising and Marketing.

Prior to starting Doverwood Communications, Melanie spent over 10 years working at several prestigious advertising and public relations firms, including Yesawich, Pepperdine, & Brown (YPB), Carlman Booker Reis (CBR) and Magic Pencil Studios. Her client roster has included: Walt Disney World Resorts & Parks, Wyndham Off-Shore Resorts, the Orlando/Orange County Convention Center, Hard Rock Live, and the Hotel del Coronado. She has also worked on various publicity/WOM initiatives with Sony Pictures, Miramax, 20th Century Fox, Fox Searchlight, Paramount Pictures, Screen Gems, Dimension Films, VH-1, MTV, and A&E.

The Orlando Business Journal has recognized Melanie as one of the “100 Most Influential Business People” in Central Florida. She is quick to apply her marketing/PR savvy to various charities and causes that speak to the heart. In 2015, she was elected President of Women in Film & Television – Florida, which now has four new sub-branch chapters in Tampa, South Florida, Jacksonville & Daytona Beach. Melanie is the key Florida contact for Women in Film & Television International (WIFTI). She also holds a dual membership with NYWIFT.

In 2010, Melanie partnered with Emmy Award-winning Director/Producer Sylvia Caminer and together created Yellow Rick Road Productions. They produced an award-winning feature documentary titled An Affair of the Heart. The film focused on the powerful connection between rock icon Rick Springfield and his devoted fans, but was certainly not a typical rockumentary nor was it made for the diehard fans. It was her dream for many years for the world to see Rick Springfield the way she did, so she targeted the film to reach people who were not aware of who Rick Springfield was or had lost sight of him after the 1980s.

An Affair of the Heart had a hugely successful film festival run before opening theatrically at the IFC Center in New York City for 9 days. Following the theatrical opening, it aired on the cable television network EPIX. It’s currently available on DVD, BluRay and various digital platforms including iTunes. Melanie & Doverwood Communications handled all of the marketing/PR needs from day one and the film received tremendous press. Doverwood Communications continues to promote the film via social media while seeking international distribution.
